Losing a pet can be a devastating blow, and sometimes the hardest thing is trying to decide how to honor and care for them after they pass.
We hope that this page can help you to navigate these options when the time comes.
In the state of Utah, there are many options available. We have listed a few of the most common body care options people choose, and what we offer through our clinic.

Group Aquamation

If you would like to have your pet cared for, but don’t need to have ashes or remains returned to you, group aquamation would be the recommended route.

Your pet will be aquamated in a group of other pets, and the facility will scatter the remains as one on a private lot of land.

This method uses a large container full of circulating warm water to clean the body and leave just the bones behind which are then powdered to create the “ashes” that the facility scatters.

This option is the least expensive besides take home.

Home Burial/Take home

A home burial is a very commonly chosen option as far as body care goes. There is no cost for this option and your pet will be placed in a biodegradable box to be taken home.

You also don’t have to bury them. There are a myriad of options available to pet owners to choose from. If you wish to do something other than what we offer here, just let us know that you would like to take your pet home with you after the euthanasia process.

Private Cremation

For owners who want to keep their pets ashes, or scatter them themselves, this is going to be the option for you.

Your pet will be cremated on their own, and placed inside of a plastic baggie, inside a velvet satchel. The base cost comes with a custom urn as well. The urn options that are available to us are restricted, but we still have 9 different urns, 6 fonts or a plaque, and endless options of words to engrave.

Cremation uses a large kiln to heat/burn the body until bones are all that are left. Those are then powdered to provide you with the ashes that remain.

(Costs vary depending on the weight of your pet. Please ask one of our staff members for the current pricing for this option.)

Private Aquamation

Aquamation is a new method of cremation available to owners in our desire to be more environmentally responsible.

It is more of a “green” option. It uses less energy overall, it doesn’t use fire or excessive heat, and the water used is great for the environment, so we don’t lose it from the water table.

This method uses a large container full of circulating warm water to clean the body and leave just the bones behind which are then powdered to give you the “ashes” that you receive. Aquamation yields a slightly larger amount of remains.

(Costs vary depending on the weight of your pet. Please ask one of our staff members for the current pricing for this option.)

Other Memorial Items We Offer

Ceramic Paw Print – These prints are made by the same company we use for our cremations. They are made with white, ceramic earth clay. They are thick and heavy, and can have your pets name imprinted down the side. These can take up to 5 weeks to be returned to us with the cremains.
*This option is ONLY available with group or private cremation, NOT aquamation.*

Clay Paw Print – This style of print is made by our staff and are made with a light, but highly durable clay. We don’t have the lettering tools to engrave a name, but we complete these within a week of seeing your pet.

Fur Clipping – We are happy to trim a bit of fur (or feathers) from your companion and return it before you leave our clinic, or with the ink pawprints that we get for every pet who passes in our clinic.
